Scented Samui
With high walls and tall doors, this grey building set on the quiet Bangrak beach is like a forbidden palace. Newly-opened Karmakamet Hotel (58 Moo 4, Bo Phut, Samui, 077-962-198, www.karmakamethotel.com) rolls out a pan-Asian décor through its 15 rooms that surround a swimming pool and a beachfront restaurant, Charoen. Its current snorkelling packages start at $586 per couple. You get a three-night stay with breakfast and a snorkelling trip to the National Marine Park. And as Karmakamet is also a scent brand, you can expect the resort to smell wonderful.

Sweet Beach

Spend some quality time with your loved one as Outrigger Serenity Terraces Resort (14 Moo 5, Viset Rd., Rawai, Muang, Phuket, 076-371-900, www.outrigger.com) launches its “Honeymoon Celebration” Package. Nikki Beach Samui (96/3 Moo 2, Lipa Noi, Koh Samui, 077-914-500, www.nikkibeach.com/kohsamui) follows the blueprint of sunset terrace, free-form pool, daybeds, beach bar and international cuisine at The Bakers’ Café located within the same compound. Isaan’s the New Black
The Northeastern provinces of Thailand are going to be the next “It” destination for hip holiday makers. Not only have the trend-forecasters said so, evidence is in the growing number of chic, design-conscious resorts popping up in this oft-ignored part of Thailand. The latest is the stylish Suppanniga Home (130 Potisarn Rd., Muang, 089-944-4880, www.supannigahome.com), located in its own extensive gardens 10 minutes from Khon Kaen. There are three styles of villas to choose from: the Thai style Banyan Villa, the Isaan-inspired Lom Laeng Villa or the contemporary-styled two-bedroom Varu Villa with exclusive jacuzzi pools. Suppanniga is currently offering an I-San getaway package, which includes a two-night stay with breakfast and dinner for two, and an airport transfer, starting from $300 for a stay in the Banyan Villa.
